VETERINARY HPM® Hypoallergy Dog Food A2 is a complete dietetic dry food formulated for the reduction of ingredient and nutrient intolerances in dogs, particularly those manifesting as skin and/or digestive disorders . It is based on a high-protein, low-carbohydrate (HP-LC) philosophy to align with the natural nutritional needs of carnivores . Crucially, it is an elimination diet used to diagnose and manage food allergies .

• Hydrolysed Single Source Protein for Allergy Management: The formula is based on hydrolysed fish protein (24% of the recipe) . This protein is extensively broken down into very small peptides (with an average molecular weight of just 1.82 kDa, and 97-99% of peptides below 10 kDa) . These tiny fragments are less likely to be recognised by the immune system as a threat, which helps prevent an allergic reaction . It also uses a single, purified carbohydrate source (potato starch), making it an ideal diet for an elimination trial or long-term management .

This food includes a specific blend of ingredients to support digestive function, including bentonite clay (5 g/kg) to help regulate digestion and protect the gut mucosa, prebiotics (FOS) to nourish beneficial gut bacteria, probiotics (pasteurised Lactobacillus acidophilus) to support a healthy gut flora, and selected fibres like lignocellulose and beet pulp . • Skin and Coat Support: To help manage the dermatological signs of allergies, the formula is enriched with balanced Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids (3% Omega-6, 0.5% Omega-3) .
